Program Evaluations
Evaluations of curriculum, instructional effectiveness and professional development were presented to the Board. Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) data showed an overall increase in the percentage of elementary and middle school students scoring proficient or advanced in Math and English Language Arts (ELA) and an increase in the percentage of high school students scoring proficient or advanced in three of the five end-of-course exam areas. An Action Plan to support curriculum writing, alignment of priority standards, and enhancements to professional development was reviewed.
School Calendar for 2024-2025
The Board approved the calendar for school year 2024-25. The calendar is substantially similar to the current year calendar with a few notable changes: Transitions Day is on a Monday (August 19), the first day of school is on a Tuesday (August 20), first semester ends before the Winter Break in December.
Summer School 2024
Preliminary plans for Summer School 2024 were reviewed. First session will be held on site at Martin City K8, Belvidere Elementary, High Grove Early Childhood and Grandview High School starting June 10th. A second session will be held virtually for high school and recovery starting July 8th.
Selection of Architectural Firms
The Board approved a recommendation from the Facilities Improvement Team (FIT) to contract with the following three architectural firms for facilities upgrades over the next five years: Alinea, Hollis & Miller and HTK. Representatives from FIT evaluated proposals from firms that responded to the district’s Request for Qualifications (RFQ), and four were selected to make presentations to the team.
